Conservation and Additions on 37 Nachalat Binyamin Street, Tel Aviv
The Yehoshua Sarkin House was established in the mid-1920s as a single-story building with a pitched roof for the Sarkin family. In 1934, upon its ruins, architects Yosef Kesdan and Eliash Shmushoni planned a new structure in the international style. The building is part of the historical fabric for conservation, combining ground-floor commercial buildings with residential floors above, reflecting the urban and commercial character of the area and life there since the establishment of the Nahalat Binyamin neighborhood.
The Sarkin House is characterized by the international architectural style that flourished in the 1930s, with minimalist and functional facade planning emphasizing horizontal and vertical lines and surfaces.
This project was executed by Kfir Lens for the office of Naor Mimar Architecture and Conservation Ltd. As part of the work, a conservation and addition process of two floors and a rear wing took place.
