Preservation of the Bnei Binyamin Compound, Herzliya
The Bnei Binyamin Compound in Herzliya includes two residential buildings that have been declared for conservation within a specific outline development plan:
Dr. Netter House (formerly Arnstein) on 2 Bnei Binyamin Street, established around the 1930s. The architect of the building is unknown. Toubes Family House, built in 1947 on 4 Bnei Binyamin Street, designed by architect Yosef Osher.
Both buildings are part of the historical fabric for conservation, comprising a sequence of residential structures and serving as a living testimony to the development of Herzliya.
The conservation works on the buildings include restoring the main facades to their original state, restoring the various plasterworks within the buildings, as well as typological carpentry and ironwork details characteristic of the style and period of construction.
As part of the works on the compound, a new residential building has been planned at the rear of the site, and extensive development works have been planned to conserve the historic courtyards with the pine trees adorning them, restore the characteristic front fence of the period, and plant characteristic vegetation around the site.
