Renovation of facades in a preservation building at 17 Netiv HaMazalot Street, Old Jaffa
The building on Netiv HaMazalot Street is a stone structure from the late 19th century located above a plaza built in the middle of the street, serving as a vivid testimony to the development of different periods in a structure based on existing remnants. The picturesque appearance of this urban landscape has become a symbol of the city and its historic port.
The building is an integral part of the built historical fabric of Old Jaffa and is located within a declared antiquities area and within the jurisdiction of Christian religious institutions.
Constructed using traditional building techniques characteristic of the Ottoman period in Jaffa, such as load-bearing walls, vaults, and the use of characteristic limestone from the region.
As part of the renovation works, historical research was conducted as the basis for façade refurbishment and interior design.
